1.6 - Living with "Elder Syndrome"

Because Abby is  no longer coherent, she is unable to continue her "Accountings".  I have captured their next few years in pictures with a few comments.  Enjoy.

Paris and Dallas manage to grow up in spite of their mother's inability to function normally.
Paris
Dallas

"Houston, do you think Austin will be okay with Mom?" asked Dallas.
"Sure Dallas," replied Houston unconvincingly as they headed out to school.

I am so glad I was able to get mom to make us something to eat that didn't have flies buzzing around!

Taking care of Austin

Sleeping by the fire (fireproofed before Elder Syndrome "ES") set in

Two visits by the repo man.

Snagged toddler books and light fixture the first time and the bookcase, light fixture and mirror the next.

Nooooo - Who are you????

What are you doing?  Who are you?  See - I am holding a kid so it doesn't make noise.

Austin finally gets to go to school and not be carried around by his mother
Austin
Why are there flies everywhere?

Because they taste good!

I will grow up to be a hopscotch champion and leave this fly infested hovel!!

"Mom wrote a journal," said Houston, "she wasn't always like this."
"A journal?" asked Dallas, "I want to see it."
"You are kidding," said Paris, "she used to be able to write?"

It's okay mom, I won't break the word processor. You go outside and play in the snow or eat some flies.

 I gotta read this!

  1. You got some great shots there. The one inside the bus especially is great looking.

  2. I figured pictures worked better for this than any story. The flies, the repo man, the kid in the snow.
